KOLKATA: ICL is set to release the unwilling cricketers who wish to return to BCCI fold and start their first-class careers all over again.
It has been learnt that the interested cricketers will need to apply for a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ICL authorities latest by May 15. The ICL authorities will announce the names of cricketers they are prepared to release by May 20.
The ICL authorities made the announcement on Wednesday in the face of increasing pressure from a bunch of domestic cricketers desperate to return to the BCCI fold after president Shashank Manohar announced amnesty for rebels who return to the fold by May 31.
However, the NOC may come with a rider. With the ICL falling behind on payment of players salaries, the ones keen to sever ties may have to kiss their outstanding dues goodbye.
